Scott Continues To Play Well For LaSalle University

Defenders AlumDefenders Alumni Alexis Scottni, Alexis Scott, continues to produce great numbers as she closes in on the end of her Sophomore (red shirt) season. Alexis scored 15 points, 2 assists, and 2 blocks as LaSalle loss a heart breaker to St Joseph of PA in Atlantic 10 action.  Scott is shooting 47% from the floor, 43% from 3 point area, 83% from free throw line, with a season average of 13 points 4 rebounds. Dunbar Posts Double-Double For Quinnipiac University in NEC Conference

Freshman Brittany McQuain (Independejacinda2011nce, Mo.) and junior Jacinda Dunbar (Edison, N.J.) each posted a double-double, but the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team fell to Central Connecticut State, 61-58, in a Northeast Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Bobcats drop to 9-6 in conference play, while the Blue Devils improve to 9-6 in the NEC. Full Story

The FBC Defenders are looking for highly motivated players to fill some key positions for the 2011 AAU Season. We will play in premier exposure events that will be selected to provide the greatest opportunity for every player. The program’s alumnae are playing at all levels of college basketball (Division I, II, III, JUCO). The FBC Defenders feature talented players built through focused skills development, personal enrichment, and academic support. If you feel you have the passion and drive to compete at high levels, then this is the place for you!

BERNARDS — All the mistakes that traditionally hinder the Franklin High School girls basketball team in big games showed up again Saturday afternoon. The missed free throws, turnovers and wasted possessions added up to a loss — just not for the usual suspect. Junior guard Shalette Brown and senior forward Jordan Thomas scored 17 points apiece as 10th-seeded Franklin used a fundamentally sound effort to upset mistake-prone seventh-seeded Pingry 61-49 in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament.

“Everyone has a new attitude,” said Brown, who also pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds. “We know Franklin has a bad reputation, but we want to show that we have a new look. Franklin can close out teams.”  Read entire article at mycentraljerseydotcom
