Shalette Brown Wins NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for Fifth Time
Freshman Grabs Conference Honor for Second Straight Week

Montclair, NJ – Freshman guard/forward Shalette Brown (Somerset, NJ, Franklin Township) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week and fifth time overall on Monday.

Brown helped keep the No. 14 Red Hawks unbeaten as Montclair rolled past Richard Stockton, 81-46 in their only game of the week. Brown posted her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as MSU upped its record to 14-0 overall, 7-0 in the NJAC. She also recorded four assists and three steals connecting on 5-of-11 attempts from the floor.

Brown currently leads the NJAC in steals (4.5 spg) and is ranked fourth in field goal percentage (.504). In addition she is 14th in scoring (10.1 ppg) and 15th in rebounds at just under six boards per contest.
