McDonough Selected WCBA All-American Honorable Mention


MADISON, N.J. (March 17, 2017) – Senior Alyssa McDonough of the FDU women’s basketball team was named an All-American Honorable Mention by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Friday.

The senior joins past standouts Shalette Brown and Kyra Dayon as the only three in program history to be recognized as All-Americans by the WBCA.

Earlier this week, the Parlin, N.J. native was named First Team All-Atlantic Region by McDonough was selected as a member of the First Team All-Atlantic Region. The senior also claimed First Team All-MAC Freedom honors for the second consecutive season.

McDonough was second in conference-only scoring at 17.8 points per game, while also averaging 9.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. The senior was twice named MAC Freedom Player of the Week and was two-time Team of the Week selection. On Senior Day, McDonough became the second person in program to record a triple-double, totaling 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
