Freshman Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) and junior Jacinda Dunbar (Edison, N.J.) each posted a double-double, but the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team fell to Central Connecticut State, 61-58, in a Northeast Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. Islamorada, FL (1/2/11) - Sophomore forward Taylor Jeffers (Franklin Township, NJ / Franklin) scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds while freshman Sara Kelley (Newtown, CT / Newtown) added 13 points off the bench as Montclair State completed its Key Largo Classic appearance with an 81-61 victory over Simmons College at Coral Shores High School on Sunday evening. Dreams do actually come true! Today I learned that an FBC Defenders Alum will become a part of the RU Women’s Basketball Team this season! Yes, you read this correctly, we will have a member of the Defenders family dressed in an RU uniform!!! Jaymee and her mother informed the program yesterday @ the game that she will be joining the program, ‘Pending NCAA Clearance’. Very Proud Day!!!

The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team won, 60-57, against Monmouth in its third Northeast Conference match-up of the season. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-8 overall and 3-0 in conference play, while the Hawks fall to 10-4 on the year and 2-1 in the NEC. “To date this is our biggest win going forward,” said Quinnipiac head coach Tricia Fabbri. “Getting a huge, tough-fought road win, against a talented Monmouth team, who’s off to their best start in school history, and considering the MAC day in front of a tremendous atmosphere, with over 1,000 people in the stands, shows were really pointing in the right direction and starting to understand what it takes to be a team.”
