FBC Defenders Champions Once Again!


Congratulations FBC Defenders! Special shout out to Briyanah Richarson, Dre’Asia Williams, Kristina Donza and Bianca Giordano for playing with the senior team (Alexzandra Walker, Kiiantay Darrell, Adrianna Fletcher, and Shavonne Smith) this past weekend at Columbus Bash tournament in Wayne, NJ. The Defenders played 3 games back to back to back on their way to capturing the tournament title. The team would also like to thank  new assistant coach and former Monmouth University starter, Jasmine Walker, for her keen insights as she served as the bench coach for the day. Game video can be found on our video channel located in the upper right corner of our webpage under the page banner. Defenders @NYLiberty Game Fundraising Event!



The Franklin Basketball Club is teaming up with the NY Liberty to attend a game and raise funds. Spend the day in New York City enjoying the sites, great food, and atmosphere of midtown Manhattan. Then finish it all off with the exciting entertainment of a NY Liberty basketball game and the return of Essence Carson to face former teammates Epiphanny Prince and Tina Charles! We are reaching out to alumni families to help us reach our goal of selling 150 NY Liberty vs LA Sparks tickets on May 21st at 6pm (Madison Square Garden). The flyer contains all the information you need to support the program and get your tickets.

Women’s Basketball Enters Season as No. 14 team in the Nation


The FDU-Florham women’s basketball team will enter the 2015-16 season as the No. 14 team in the country as announced in Monday’s Women’s Top 25 Poll.The Devils, who posted a 29-2 record and an Elite Eight appearance last season, are projected to be one of the nation’s top teams again in 2015-16.Despite the loss of three of the school’s most decorated student-athletes of all-time in Kyra DayonKara Dayon and Leigh-Ann Lively, the future is bright for a young team that returns key members Shalette BrownAlyssa McDonough and Rachel Groom this year. Women’s Basketball Picked as Favorite in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll


Following an “Elite Eight” appearance in last year’s NCAA Tournament, the FDU-Florham women’s basketball team was selected as the overall favorite in this year’s MAC Freedom Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which was announced on Thursday morning.

The Devils were the unanimous first overall pick, receiving seven first place votes and 49 total points. FDU-Florham finished 12 points higher than DeSales (37) who sits in second.

It is a new look for the Devils, who boasted a senior heavy lineup last season, as they lost five key members from last year’s NCAA Tournament team. However, they brought back WBCA All-American forward Shalette Brown as well as juniors Alyssa McDonough and Rachel Groom.

Head coach Marc Mitchell and the Devils are looking to claim their fourth consecutive MAC Freedom title and will be led by Brown and McDonough, who were dominant in the 2014-15 season, leading the team in scoring. Read More +

2014 NCAA Champion Devils Women’s Basketball Team Honored With Championship Ring Ceremony

MADISON, N.J. – In front of a capacity crowd on Tuesday evening at Ferguson Recreation Center, the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women’s basketball team received their 2014 NCAA Division III National Championship rings. The team’s rings, along with resolutions, were presented to each member of the 2014 squad by alumnus Governor Richard Codey and University president Sheldon Drucker prior to the No.1-ranked Devils’ game against Drew University.

Former Gov. Codey said, “I have long wanted to wear a national collegiate championship ring, and now I will. These FDU women of New Jersey are fabulous.”

Last March, the FDU-Florham women won the NCAA Division III championship by finishing undefeated with a perfect 33-0 season. The Devils beat Tufts University in the semi-final before topping Whitman College in the final game FDU-Florham is the first NCAA Women’s Basketball Champion in New Jersey history and the first team to claim an NCAA basketball championship in the state since 1996.

Tonight, the Devils, who are ranked atop all national polls, cruised to an 88-51 victory over the Rangers and improved to 8-0 on the campaign. With the win, the team has now won its last 41 games. The Devils have 20 days off before their next game, which will be at the Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada.
