KendreaVsSBrunswick5 KendreaNJAllStar2016

Congratulations to Senior Kendrea Williams, Piscataway High School,  on being selected to the prestigious NJSCA North-South All Star Basketball Team for 2016. Williams has been a steady and dominate force for Piscataway from the moment she stepped onto the floor as a freshman varsity player. A sleek 5′ 9″ guard she posses a “Buttery Silk” jumpshot and a great basketball IQ. The senior has twice been named Middlesex County Tournament MVP while capturing the title every season. Now she looks to leave the program with a four-peat in championships and possibly a third MVP. Still undecided about where she will play this fall but one thing is for sure. Where ever this kid plays that coach is going to be extremely have they landed her as she is an immediate impact player. Congratulations Kendrea on a well deserved honor!

MADISON, N.J. – In a tightly contested MAC Freedom game, the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women’s basketball team was able to piece together a fourth quarter surge that helped lift them past the Delaware Valley University Aggies 67-58 on Wednesday night at the Ferguson Recreation Center.

Shalette Brown posted a stellar outing for the Devils (11-5, 3-2 MAC Freedom), totaling 23 points, 20 rebounds and four steals in the win over the Aggies (6-10, 2-3 MAC Freedom). The senior forward has tallied 20 or more rebounds now in three of her last four games. Meanwhile, junior guard Alyssa McDonough was a huge spark as she added 20 points.

The Devils grabbed the lead midway through the opening quarter once McDonough and Danielle Leguillou knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers. FDU-Florham was able to hold onto that lead into the second quarter but with four minutes remaining in the half, a Brianna Rivello layup gave the Aggies a one-point advantage.

Delaware Valley had an efficient scoring spurt in the first half as they shot 53 percent as a team. Rivello alongside senior guard Eireann Anastasi were able to make that possible as they combined to score 23 of the team’s 30 points in the half on 11-of-16 shooting from the field.  Click Here For Full Article…

Women’s Basketball Picked as Favorite in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll

Following an “Elite Eight” appearance in last year’s NCAA Tournament, the FDU-Florham women’s basketball team was selected as the overall favorite in this year’s MAC Freedom Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which was announced on Thursday morning.

The Devils were the unanimous first overall pick, receiving seven first place votes and 49 total points. FDU-Florham finished 12 points higher than DeSales (37) who sits in second.

It is a new look for the Devils, who boasted a senior heavy lineup last season, as they lost five key members from last year’s NCAA Tournament team. However, they brought back WBCA All-American forward Shalette Brown as well as juniors Alyssa McDonough and Rachel Groom.

Head coach Marc Mitchell and the Devils are looking to claim their fourth consecutive MAC Freedom title and will be led by Brown and McDonough, who were dominant in the 2014-15 season, leading the team in scoring. Read More +
